Have you ever had problems with eyeshadow showing up well on your eyes? Maybe it creases a lot? I personally have extremely oily eyelids (the only part of my face that is oily) and my shadow just doesn’t stay put. It moves around, muddies up the coloring and creases constantly. For that reason, I have been on the hunt for a good primer. One that helps the shadow stay put, and make it bright.
After going through a bunch of primers, some providing staying power but the shadows look a bit dull, some providing a good base for the pigmentation but then the shadow creases half an hour later, I was recommended the E.L.F. Putty Eye Primer. There are six different shades. I have picked up two of them so far, Rose and White. Below is the description of what works for me when using this type of primer.
I have found that both shades are creamy upon first application and smooths out nicely on the eye. I did notice that once open, the formula dries out a bit over time and therefore takes a bit more work when applying. That isn’t to say that it is dry or dries out completely, but when it has been open for around 24 hours, I find that the formula settles and becomes a little thicker. This is actually for the better, as the primer does seem to stick to the eyelid better and prevents the shadow from slipping around. I also find that even though the primer is thicker, if you let it warm up on the finger for a bit, it will apply smoothly.
I believe that while this primer does require some “working with”, the result is worth it.
